.I am currently employed as a legal secretary/p.a.

Under my contract of employment it states that my
annual salary is €25,000 p.a. which is fine but the
Courts are closed for two months per year, August and
September and I am temporarily laid off for these two
Months.I am taken off the pay roll, this means my
annual salary is less than what is stated on my
contract of employment (e.g. after tax I am receiving jst over 20,000 instead of what is stated on my contract €25,000 if you take away two months off my salary) I am wondering what you think
of this situation and is there any advice you can
offer me relating to same.

2. Another position has come up, in a College close to
my house as an executive assistant and I am very much
interested in applying for the job the only thing is I
would have to take two full days off work, and due
to the fact that I am the only secretary for my boss
it is extremely difficult to take time out of my work
schedule and It has affected my change in employment
previously (as I attempted to move a jobs a couple of
months ago to another office but I was unable to
attend the interviews as I had to work and was unable to get the time off )

Can you provide me information on how I could go
about scheduling interviews around my hectic work
schedule and I am also looking for advice on changing
job, as it will be extremely difficult to hand in my
notice as I am the only secretary in my office and
there will be no one else to cover for me, it could
take some time to hire a replacement and I want to leave on good terms and hope to get a good reference from my employer.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Dublin Nth Secretary

p.s. I have been working in this office for over a year and I have not received any salary review how do I approach this as I was told during my hiring interview I was entitled to an annual salary review.

P.S. My wages is set up via standing order but I have never received any payslip from my employer, is this normal ?

Also a couple of times I was asked to stay back at the office and work overtime and I did not get any overtime pay instead my employer tells me that I can have additional time off e.g. a two hour lunch break the following day, should I be given the option as an employee for additional payment or time off in lieu ?
